BriskJournal
BriskJournal is a resume and cover-letter builder that works entirely offline on your phone. This page explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
BriskJournal does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. Everything you type stays on your device.
Information we collect
None. BriskJournal has no account, no sign-in and no server. The personal details you enter into a resume or letter (such as your name, email address and phone number) are written to your device's storage so you can keep editing them, and are never sent to us.
Data stored on your device
To make the app work, BriskJournal stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's local storage:
- The resumes you write: the name, headline, email address, phone number, location and website you enter, plus your summary, work experience, education, skills and projects.
- The cover letters you draft, including the company, role, recipient and job highlights you type in.
- Your author profile: the display name, tagline and avatar you choose, and simple counters such as documents created, exports shared, best resume score and writing streak.
- Unlocked achievements and a per-day tally of edits used for the insights charts.
- Your settings: default template and accent, date and bullet style, page density, motion preference and whether onboarding has been completed.
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to BriskJournal or to any third party. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of it permanently.
Permissions
BriskJournal does not request any runtime permissions: no camera, microphone, location, contacts or photo access. The Android build declares the standard internet permission that Flutter apps include by default, but the app itself makes no network requests.
Network use
BriskJournal works fully offline. It does not contact any server, send analytics or download content. When you choose to share a resume or letter, the text is handed to your phone's system share sheet, and the app you pick there (email, messaging, notes) decides what happens next. BriskJournal never sees where it goes.
Third-party services
No third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or payment services are integrated. The app uses open-source libraries for on-device storage and for opening the system share sheet; none of them transmit data.
Children's privacy
BriskJournal is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because it collects no personal information and sends nothing off the device, it does not knowingly collect data from children of any age.
Your rights
All of your data is on your device and under your control. You can edit or delete any resume or letter inside the app at any time. Clearing the app's storage in system settings, or uninstalling BriskJournal, permanently removes everything. There is nothing held on a server for us to export or erase.
Changes to this policy
